Rule 3.1370 Emancipation of minors

To ask a court to declare a minor emancipated, the person filing the paperwork must follow the steps laid out in rule 5.605. Emancipation means a person under 18 is legally recognized as an adult and no longer under their parents' control.

Rule 5.605 covers what forms to use, what information to include, and how to file the request correctly. If the paperwork does not follow those rules, the court may not accept it.
