Rule 3.222 Papers to be served on cross-defendants

When you file a cross-complaint in a California civil case, you must serve certain documents on the people you are suing (called cross-defendants) if they have not yet shown up in the case.

You need to give them a copy of the original complaint, or if the complaint has been updated, the most recent version of it. You also need to include any answers that have been filed in response to that complaint.
