The normal privacy protection for therapy sessions does not apply in certain situations. If someone went to a therapist specifically to get help planning a crime, carrying out a wrongful act, or avoiding getting caught after doing something illegal, those conversations are not protected.

This means a therapist could be required to share what was said in those sessions in court. The protection only disappears when the therapy itself was used as a tool for wrongdoing, not just because a crime happened to be discussed.
