You have the right to keep your vote private. If someone tries to force you to say how you voted in a secret ballot election, you can refuse to answer.

There are two exceptions to this protection. If you voted illegally, you cannot use this rule to hide how you voted. You also lose this protection if you already voluntarily told someone how you voted before claiming the privilege.
