Rule 1105 Any otherwise admissible evidence of habit or custom is admissible to prove conduct on a specified occasion in conformity with the habit or custom.

If someone always does something the same way, that pattern of behavior can be used as evidence in court. For example, if a person always locks their car door before walking away, that habit could be used to show they probably locked it on a specific day in question.

This type of evidence works because habits are repeated actions that happen almost automatically. A habit is different from just a personality trait. It has to be a specific, regular action that a person does consistently in a certain situation.

The evidence still has to meet other rules to be allowed in court. A judge will not automatically accept habit evidence just because someone claims it exists. There needs to be enough proof that the behavior truly was a regular habit or custom, not just something that happened once or twice.
