What happens in mediation stays in mediation, even after mediation is over. If something said or written during mediation could not be used in court while the mediation was ongoing, it still cannot be used in court after mediation ends.

This means people can speak freely during mediation without worrying that their words will later be used against them in a lawsuit. The protection does not expire just because the mediation process is finished.
