Rule 665 A person is presumed to intend the ordinary consequences of his voluntary act.

When someone does something on purpose, the court will assume they meant for the normal, expected results to happen. For example, if someone throws a rock through a window, the court assumes they meant to break the glass.

This assumption does not apply in criminal cases where the prosecutor must prove the defendant had a specific intent to commit the crime. In those cases, the prosecutor cannot simply point to what happened and say the defendant must have wanted that result. They have to actually prove what the defendant was thinking or planning.
