Rule 723 The court may, at any time before or during the trial of an action, limit the number of expert witnesses to be called by any party.

A judge has the power to cap how many expert witnesses each side can bring to court. This can happen before the trial starts or even while the trial is already going on.

This rule exists to keep trials from becoming drawn out by an endless parade of experts all saying the same thing. If you are involved in a case, your lawyer may need to carefully choose which experts to call if the judge sets a limit.
