If a judge refuses to let someone keep information private using a privilege, only the person who owns that privilege can complain about it later in court. For example, if your private medical records are at issue, you are the one who can object if the judge wrongly forces them to be shared.

There is one exception to this rule. If a judge refuses to let your spouse use their marital privilege to keep quiet, you can raise that as an error even though the privilege belongs to your spouse.
