Rule 5.90 Format of papers

When you file a request for order in a family court case, you need to follow the same formatting rules used for motions in regular civil cases. These formatting rules are found in California Rules of Court 3.1100 through 3.1116.

The only exceptions are when the Family Rules specifically say to do something differently. So if a Family Rule gives different instructions about format, follow that instead.
