Rule 7.1002 Acknowledgment of receipt of Duties of Guardian

When someone is appointed as a guardian, they must sign a form called the "Duties of Guardian" (form GC-248) before they can officially start acting as guardian. This form confirms they have received and read information about their responsibilities.

The court will not give the guardian their official paperwork (called "letters") until this signed form is on file. Without those letters, a guardian cannot legally act on behalf of the person they are appointed to protect.
