Rule 7.206 Bond upon sale of real property

When a judge approves the sale of real estate in a probate case, the judge may require a bond or an extra bond as part of that approval. A bond is a type of financial guarantee that protects the people who stand to inherit money or property.

The court will not officially record or file the approval order until that bond has been submitted. This means the sale cannot move forward on paper until the bond requirement is met. If you are waiting for a sale to be finalized, this step must be completed first.
