Rule 2.107 Margins

When you file papers with a California trial court, you need to leave enough blank space on the sides of each page. The left side needs at least one inch of empty space, and the right side needs at least half an inch.

These margin rules help make sure the court can read and handle your documents without important text being cut off or hidden. If you submit papers that do not follow these rules, the court may reject them.
