Rule 2.133 Hole punching

When you print and bring paper forms to file at a California trial court, they must have two holes punched at the top before you submit them.

The holes need to be the standard size, spaced 2½ inches apart, and placed 5/8 of an inch down from the top edge of the paper. This is the same spacing you would find on standard three-ring binder paper, just using only the two center holes.

This rule only applies to paper documents. If you file your forms online through the court's electronic filing system, you do not need to worry about hole punching.
