Rule 2.572 Ex parte application for an extension of time

If you are part of a False Claims Act case in California, you can ask the court for more time to do something in your case. You do this through a special request called an ex parte application, which lets you ask the court without the other side being present.

To make this request, you follow the ex parte rules found in title 3 of the California Rules of Court. The time extension itself is allowed under Government Code section 12652.
