Rule 2.819 Continuing duty to disclose and disqualify

A temporary judge must keep checking throughout a case to see if anything has come up that needs to be disclosed or that would require them to step down from the case. This duty does not end once the case starts.

If a temporary judge learns something new that affects their ability to be fair, they must speak up and may need to remove themselves from the case. The rules that govern this come from the Code of Judicial Ethics, which sets the standards for how judges must behave.
