Rule 58 Entry of Judgment

When the judge signs an order, that order is the official judgment. There is no separate document needed to make the decision final and official.

This matters because deadlines for things like appeals are often counted from when the judgment is entered. In this court, that clock starts when the judge signs the order, not at some later date when a separate judgment document might be filed.
