Rule 513 Reporter’s Privilege

In Delaware, reporters do not have a special right under the rules of evidence to refuse to testify in court. If a reporter is called as a witness, they generally must answer questions just like anyone else.

However, Delaware law may have separate statutes that give reporters some protection. If those laws apply, a reporter might be able to refuse to share certain information, like the identity of a confidential source. The rule simply points you to those statutes rather than creating any new protections on its own.
