Rule 903 Subscribing Witness’s Testimony

When someone signs a document as a witness, they do not automatically have to appear in court to prove the document is real. Most of the time, other ways of proving a document's authenticity are allowed.

The only time a signing witness must testify is when a specific law requires it. For example, some states have laws saying that certain documents, like wills, need a witness to testify in court to prove they are valid. If no such law applies to your document, you can skip this requirement.
