Rule 29.1 Closing argument

In a criminal trial, closing arguments happen in a specific order. The prosecution goes first and gives its closing argument to the jury.

After the prosecution finishes, the defense gets to respond with its own closing argument. Then the prosecution gets one final turn to reply to what the defense said. This last prosecution argument is called a rebuttal.
