If you're arrested and there's a small mistake in how the arrest warrant was written, that mistake alone won't get you released from custody. Courts won't throw out a warrant just because of a formatting error or similar defect in how it was put together.
Instead of canceling the warrant, the court can simply fix the mistake. This means small paperwork errors won't be used as a way to avoid arrest or get out of jail if the warrant is otherwise valid. The rule exists so that minor technical problems don't interfere with the legal process, as long as the warrant is fixable and the underlying reason for the arrest is still valid.
