Rule 23 Fees and commissions on cases filed prior to January 16, 1977.

If you have a court case that was filed before January 16, 1977, this rule says the old fee rules still apply to it. The fees and commissions that were in place back then still count, even though the case may still be active or money may still be coming in today.

This also affects court clerks and registers, including people who used to hold those jobs but don't anymore. If a clerk or register was allowed to collect fees on one of these older cases, they still get to collect that money. It doesn't matter if the payment comes in years later. The right to collect that fee stays with them, based on the rules that existed when the case was first filed.
