Plain-English Summary (for reference only — not a substitute for the rule text above)
This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.
When a preliminary hearing is recorded electronically, the court clerk must save and protect that recording. The clerk has to treat it the same way a court reporter would treat their official notes from a hearing.
This matters because the recording serves as the official record of what happened at the preliminary hearing. If you need to review or challenge what was said during that hearing, the recording should be available because the clerk is required to keep it safe.
