Form 3(a) Summons: Ten-Print Fingerprint Required

When a defendant is summoned to appear in a criminal case instead of being arrested, they must still provide ten-print fingerprints. Ten-print means all ten fingers are scanned or inked, not just a few.

The defendant must get fingerprinted before their first court appearance or at the time the court directs. This is required even though they were not taken into custody. The fingerprinting can be done at a law enforcement agency or another location the court approves.

If a defendant does not get fingerprinted as required, the court can take action against them, including potentially issuing an arrest warrant.
