Rule 8.11 Scope of rules

Most court rules were written before electronic filing existed, but they apply to both paper documents and electronic documents. It does not matter whether you print something out and hand it in or submit it through an online system.

If a specific rule says something different about electronic versus paper filing, follow that specific rule instead. Otherwise, assume the same rules apply to both ways of filing.
