Rule 8.20 California Rules of Court prevail

If you file a document in a California Court of Appeal and it follows the statewide California Rules of Court, the court must accept it. Local rules for that specific court cannot be used to reject your document.

This means you only need to worry about the statewide rules when preparing your paperwork. A local court cannot add its own requirements that would block your filing from being accepted.
