Rule 8.361 Certificate of interested entities or persons

If a business or organization (not a person) is the defendant in a criminal case, it must file a special form called a "certificate of interested entities or persons." This is the same form required in civil appeals under rule 8.208.

This certificate lists any other companies or people who have a financial interest in the outcome of the case. Courts use this information to check whether any judges or court officials have a conflict of interest that would require them to step aside from the case.
