Rule 4.431 Proceedings at sentencing to be reported

When a judge sentences someone in a criminal case, a court reporter must be present to record everything that is said.

This recording creates an official written record of the sentencing. That record can be important if the person later wants to appeal their sentence or challenge what happened in court that day.
