Rule 663 A ceremonial marriage is presumed to be valid.

If two people went through a wedding ceremony, the law assumes their marriage is legal and valid. You do not have to prove the marriage was done correctly. The court starts by accepting it as real.

If someone wants to claim the marriage is not valid, they have to prove it. The burden falls on the person challenging the marriage, not the person defending it.
