Rule 764 A “leading question” is a question that suggests to the witness the answer that the examining party desires.

A leading question is one that hints at or contains the answer the person asking wants to hear. For example, asking "You were at the store on Monday, weren't you?" is leading because it suggests the answer is "yes."

Courts care about this because leading questions can push a witness to agree with something rather than give their own honest answer. That is why lawyers are generally not allowed to ask leading questions when questioning their own witnesses.
