Therapists and other professionals who are required by law to report child abuse must still do so, even if the information came up during mediation. The privacy protections that normally apply to mediation do not change this duty.

If you are a mandated reporter, like a counselor or social worker, you cannot use mediation rules as a reason to stay silent about suspected child abuse. Protecting children comes first.
