§ 175 [Person Defined]

When this rule uses the word "person," it covers more than just individual human beings. It also includes businesses and groups like partnerships, corporations, LLCs, and nonprofit organizations. Government agencies and other public entities count as "persons" too.

This matters because rules about what "a person" can do or must do in court apply equally to all these different types of entities. So if a rule says a "person" must provide evidence or has certain rights, that applies whether you are an individual, a company, or a government body.
