§ 6 [References Include All Amendments]

When a law refers to another law or rule, that reference covers all updates and changes to that law, both past and future. You do not need to worry that an older reference points to an outdated version.

This means that if the Evidence Code points to another rule or statute, it automatically includes any changes lawmakers have made to that rule over time. The reference stays current without needing to be rewritten every time a law is updated.
