Rule 36 Clerical Mistakes

If the court makes a typo or small clerical error in a judgment, order, or other paperwork, it can fix that mistake at any time. This includes simple errors that happened because something was overlooked or accidentally left out.

The court decides if it needs to notify the people involved before making the fix, and how much notice to give them. This rule exists so small errors do not cause big problems. It only covers minor mistakes in the paperwork, not changes to the actual decision or outcome of the case.
