D.N.J. LBR 1001-1. Scope of Rules

(a) Scope. These Local Bankruptcy Rules govern procedure before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey, and supplement the United States Bankruptcy Code and the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure.

(b) Modification. The court may modify the application of a Local Bankruptcy Rule in a particular case or proceeding.

(c) Citation. A Local Bankruptcy Rule should be cited as "D.N.J. LBR ___."

2025 Comment In addition to compliance with these Rules, parties should be guided by the judicial preferences of the presiding judge, which may be found in the Judges' Info tab on the court's website.

2015 Comment Certain of these Rules are derived from the Local Civil Rules of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. A Local Civil Rule not incorporated into these Rules does not apply.
