RULE 5001-1 Photography, Recording Devices, and Broadcasting The taking of photographs or recordings in the courtroom or its environs or radio or television broadcasting from the courtroom or its environs during the progress of or in connection with judicial proceedings, whether or not court is actually in session, is prohibited. All such devices must be turned off in any courtroom and may not be used in any manner that disrupts or interferes with any judicial proceeding or violates Federal Rule of Evidence 615. Use of any device to record, transmit, or photograph court proceedings is prohibited. As used in these rules, the term "environs" means any place immediately adjacent to or within any United States Courthouse.
