Rule 9019-1 Compromise or Settlement of Controversies

(a) Notice On motion by a trustee, debtor in possession or debtor exercising powers under § 1303 of the Code, and after notice and hearing, the court may approve a compromise or settlement of a controversy. Notice shall be given to the Master Mailing List, the United States Trustee, and the trustee as provided in LBR 2002-1.

(b) Applicability This rule shall apply to any claim that is being compromised or settled with another entity and that has not been abandoned pursuant to § 554 of the Code.
