5001-1 Court Security

(a) Electronic Devices. In accordance with the policy of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, law enforcement officers and attorneys appearing before the court and serving as counsel of record may enter the courthouse with personal electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, pagers, smart watches, laptops, tablets) without seeking permission from the Chief Judge. All personal electronic devices must be in silent mode. Any personal electronic device that emits sounds in the courthouse is subject to seizure and its owner subject to sanctions. Use of personal electronic devices in a manner that is distracting or disruptive is prohibited.

(b) Photography, Recording and Rebroadcasting. Photography and audio and video recording are prohibited in the courthouse. Also, photography (e.g., screen-shots), audio and video recording and rebroadcasting of teleconferences and videoconferences are prohibited.
