Local Rule 2014-2. Judges Acting in a Settlement Capacity a) The Court presiding over a particular matter may, at the request of a party or on the Court's motion, order parties to participate in a settlement conference with another sitting federal judicial officer in that federal judicial officer's role as a Judicial Mediator at any time.

b) A federal judicial officer serving in the capacity as a Judicial Mediator is serving as a judicial officer of the United States district court established under Article III of the Constitution.

c) Judicial Mediators are judicial officers clothed with the same immunities as judges and, to the same extent set forth in Title 28 of the United States Code, are immune from claims arising out of acts or omissions incident or related to their service as a Judicial Mediator.
