LBR 8001: Appeals From the Bankruptcy Court All appeals from the Bankruptcy Court will be heard and determined by the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals unless a party to the appeal files a timely election to "opt out" and have the appeal heard by the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Any such election must be made in accordance with the applicable procedural rules of the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.
