Rule 4004-3. Chapter 7 Cases Closed Without Discharge If required by § 727(a)(11), proof of completion of the personal financial management instructional course is due 45 days after the first date set for the meeting of creditors. If proof of completion has not been filed, a chapter 7 case may be closed without a discharge. If proof of completion of the personal financial management instructional course is filed after the case is closed, the debtor must also file a motion to reopen the case with a 21-day notice to all creditors and interested parties. A filing fee to reopen the case must be paid with the motion.
