3.4 Petitions for Writ of Habeas Corpus Filed by State Prisoners Pursuant to Rule 4 of the Rules Governing Section 2254 Cases in the United States District Courts, the clerk will serve on the Attorney General for the State of Montana a copy of each § 2254 habeas petition filed in this court. This rule does not confer an obligation on the Attorney General to make an appearance in the case.
