LCR 46-10. EXONERATION OF BONDS

(a) A surety on an appearance bond may move the court to be relieved of liability on the bond.

(b) The motion must state the grounds for exoneration, which may include: (1) the defendant has been surrendered to the custody of the United States Marshal or a state or local law enforcement agency; (2) the defendant has been acquitted; (3) the case has been dismissed; or (4) the defendant has been sentenced.

(c) The court will exonerate the bond upon a finding that the surety is no longer at risk of liability under the terms of the bond.
