LR 41-1. DISMISSAL FOR WANT OF PROSECUTION The court may sua sponte dismiss any civil action for want of prosecution if the plaintiff fails to proceed with the case within a reasonable time. Before dismissing an action for want of prosecution, the court will provide the plaintiff with notice and an opportunity to show cause why the case should not be dismissed.
