Local Rule Rule 30: Depositions
D.P.R. — Civil rule
RULE 30 DEPOSITIONS Absent agreement by the parties, all depositions in cases pending before the court shall be conducted in the English language. Interpreter costs shall be the responsibility of the party notifying the deposition. Nevertheless, it shall be the responsibility of the attorney who announces or produces the witness to timely notify the need for an interpreter, certifying that the witness is not sufficiently conversant in English to understand the questions that will be posed to him or her or communicate a complete response. Abuse of this rule shall subject parties or attorneys to sanctions, including the costs of the interpreter.
