LR 47.2 RESTRICTION ON PHOTOGRAPHING OR INTERVIEWING JURORS A. Photographing Jurors. In order to protect the integrity and independence of jurors, no person may photograph or attempt to photograph any juror, grand or petit, without the express approval of the individual juror or the express approval of the presiding judge. No one other than a juror may photograph or otherwise record his or her motor vehicle or motor vehicle license. Leaflets or other juror information pamphlets may not be given to a juror or placed in any place where a juror might reasonably be expected to obtain the printed matter. Such action may constitute an unlawful attempt to influence, intimidate, or impede a juror or witness, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1503 and 18 U.S.C. § 1510.

B. Interviewing Jurors. No one may contact any juror before or during the juror's service on a case. The parties, their lawyers and anybody acting on their behalf must seek and obtain permission from the district judge who tried the case before contacting a juror after the juror served on the case.
