LR 65.1.1 Qualifications of Sureties Every bond furnished in connection with a civil proceeding in this court must have as surety either (1) a cash deposit equal to the amount of the bond, (2) an obligation of the United States Government, or (3) a corporation authorized by the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States to act as surety on official bonds, pursuant to 31 U.S.C. 9303-9309, except that a bond for costs may have as surety an individual resident of the district who owns real or personal property within the district sufficient to cover the full amount of the suretyship.
By stipulation of the parties or order of the court, some other form of surety be posted.
