LR 37.1 Discovery Abuse, Sanctions for. In addition to the application of those sanctions specified in Local Rule 83.3, the court may impose upon any party or counsel such sanctions as may be just, including the payment of reasonable expenses and attorney's fees, if any party or attorney abuses the discovery process in seeking, making or resisting discovery. In an appropriate case, the court may, in addition to other remedies, notify the Attorney General of the United States in a public writing that the United States, through its officers or attorneys, has failed without good cause to cooperate in discovery or has otherwise abused the discovery process.
