Criminal Rule 57.5 Procedure in Imperial County Cases a. Initial Appearance. The magistrate judge in Imperial County will conduct the initial appearance under Rule 5, Fed. R. Crim. P. of each defendant brought before him charged with a felony criminal offense. b. Further Proceedings. The magistrate judge in Imperial County will conduct such duties as are assigned by the Court. c. Transfer of File. Upon completion of the proceedings before the magistrate judge in Imperial County, California, the complete magistrate judge's file will be forwarded to the Clerk's Office.
