Rule 58. Collateral Payments In accordance with Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 58(d)(1), payment of a fixed sum may be accepted in suitable types of petty offense cases in lieu of appearance and as authorizing the termination of the proceedings. Such fixed sums may be increased or decreased from time to time by this Court by standing order, provided such fixed sums shall not exceed the maximum fine which could be imposed upon conviction.
